Hello everyone, just dropping by to see whats new on FPSC. I recently purchased Torque 3D my self. Very good engine but alot more complicated to use. So whats new here? Not seeing any new mods or bug fixes. So anything planned to be released soon?

Yes. The new official update is going to be released soon. It's FPSC biggest patch so far.

I had Torque before I bought FPSC. I didn't find it that good... I've heard it has fantastic support but I never found that. For all this forum's faults I have found the majority of users to be very willing to help.

It was supposed to be a monkey / kangaroo fire-breathing hybrid. And it would be 70 km tall, and keep a giant laser in it's pouch.

Well the plus I must admit about Torque is its processing ability. The engine its self is far more superior then FPSC, the downside is using it. In order to build a game using it requires a large team which I dont have currently. So its great if you have animator, game designer, programmer, sound fx person and really everything to build a commerical game. FPSC advantage is its super easy to use and requires little or no team to build a game. Im just a hobbist right now. I mean I could probably gather a large team for a commerical game using the engine but I like to mess around with FPSC for now.

In the future I think Ill use Torque more but for now, Im going to play with FPSC a little more. As far as support for Torque, yeah they are pretty amazing over there. On the flip side, they dont share alot of info for free as far as programming info and other info. So to use Torque, I think you need to allready have a good grasp of game design in general before using it. Which is where FPSC helps. It gives us a basic understanding of how to create a basic game. You can do some advanced stuff with FPSC but fairly limited compared to Torque. But Torque also like I said is much more complex to use. So it takes alot more time. There is alot of pro's and cons when comparing the two engines. But I paid 99 Bucks for it on sale. Orginaly was 1200 when I first wanted to buy it. So I grabbed it while it was on sale and placed it on the shelf for now. Im workig on a team using it but Im not terriable impressed with the Teams design concept or game we are creating. But I am learning alot about how to use the engine its self.

Yup bought my copy lol Its not a bad engine. Just very detailed but comparable to Unity engine. anyway you go, it was a fairly good deal but far to advanced for me to use my self right now.
