I've just had a look back through the forums to dig something out but can't find it anywhere. There was something someone answered that you can make memblock and create manually an object from scratch. Apart from that I'm not sure.

Quote: "how do I specify a face"

using 3 indices if object contains index data or with 3 vertices if object only contains vertexdata

set vertexdata diffuse command -> but you first need to convert object's fvf format to one of the formats that contain diffuse color
