I'm looking for some real user reviews on the FPSC Toolbox. I'm considering buying it.

Thanks

It is a great set of tools, made by BullShock. (Not around the forums much anymore)

It makes the enitity scripts for you, which can be done by hand but great for just trying to get your media into your map then you can tweak the scripts by hand for more custom details.

You can however use the free tools provided HERE.

And look around the forums starting HERE. For more free tools.

Specificly, look for OverLaze, Text Ease, FPI EditPad and Alfresco. I think these are the most current apps made by Xplosys and Flatlander.

I bought this a long time ago. In the beginning I used it a lot and it showed me the basics of making the fpe scripts. But now i mostly just copy .fpe files from the existing models. It's a good tool but it has a lot of problems and bugs to

Hi

I bought it earlier this year and had some problems with one aspect and Bullshock patiently assisted me throughout until we got it working. So I can vouch for his after-sales service.

I got my copy a few hours ago. so far it does seem to make things A LOT easier. I'm already working on some new stuff with it, too. I'd say it's cut my workload quite a bit.

UnderTheGun,
That's good, just remember to learn and get familiar with doing it by hand after you get confortable using FPSC Toolbox and getting some of your own assets in your map. Once you start to see you stuff in game it will motivate you to learn more.

Thanks a lot, John. I'll admit I'm looking for the easiest way to do things right now... just starting out. But I want to and will eventually start looking at doing things through the proper applications.

Right, I do the same thing. Start small and work your way up.

Good luck.

I've asked the community frequently to report any bugs or issues with the product.

There is a new version in the works with tons of new features (even new entity types and abilities) but if the core functionality is have any issue at all, I want to fix it.

I'd love to hear what you have to say, just shoot me an email.

As for the product, I don't like to be a salesman for my own stuff, but I stand behind the quality of my products. I agree with the posts here though. Everything my programs do can be done by hand, it is simply meant to automate the process.

If anyone has any questions or issues, feel free to email me or use the contact form on my site.

Bullshock,

I use FPSC Toolbox and haven't had any problems per say.
Could you make another official thread for FPSC Toolbox and give us a heads up on what is coming up in the updates. Also, is the update going to be free for current users?

Sounds awsome

What i meant about Bugs and problems was that the software has a lot of limitations and you can customise a lot more when you do it manualy

Right, well it is hard to keep up when so many changes and additions are made to FPSC itself.

Bugs and problems are very different then limitations.

Will do when it comes down to release time. Haven't quite decided if this will be FPSC Toolbox 1.2 or FPSC Toolbox 2.0...and that will be the difference between free or upgrade.

I'm still doing research on all of the new features and the changes to FPI scripting and stuff. Not to mention making sure it is windows 7, 32bit and 64bit, and FPSC X10 compatible with all sorts of hardware.

I am also messing around with implementing new programs into FPSC toolbox, so it depends on a few things.

Will the feature Game Editing Feature also be included?

BTW on the product page 'Free updates for the life of the product!' is shown

Smart Packer Pro - Distribute games and applications
3DRad V-Packer - Compress 3DRad files into one executable
Flash Packer - Pack your Flash movies

Game Editing System (G.E.S.) was a nearly finished product that almost launched, but there were difficulties with all of the new additions constantly being added to FPSC. The best I can give you is a maybe.

Updates and upgrades are two different things. If I work on implementing completely new programs into FPSC Toolbox, chances are there will be an upgrade price (something small for current customers)...If I fix some bugs and add some new features to the existing toolset, it will be free.

There is a good chance both will happen though, so keep an eye out.
