You can't, the updates overwrite existing files.
If you are wanting to roll back, then you wil need to do a fresh install.

[edit] Oops, unless you have a restore point you can roll back to before the update. (Might work)

The best thing, you can do is plan ahead and make a copy of your FPS Creator folder. I am currently running V117 and V118, both or in the Game Creators folder. Just suffix the version you’re not using with the version number and remove it for the version you want to use. Just be sure to have the right version set before any updates. Theoretically you should be able to have as many versions set up this way as hard drive space will allow.

Wicked,
Are you referring to suffixing the FPS Creator directories themselves?
Where in you have:
FPS Creator (dir of install you are using)
FPS Creator "version number" (dir of install on stand by)

Can you still run the "stand by" FPSCreator.exe properly without changing the directory name back and forth? If so, I always thought that would give errors so i never bothered, but it would be awesome if it will work.. time for me to flog my HDD for a little while...

[edit]
Tested, wasn't doubting you Wicked, just had to test for myself. I was mainly concerned if I was going to be able to run FPSC from that new folder so I can have two working installs.

I now have:
\FPS Creator and \FPSC sandbox , seems to be working fine. Now I can poke around in files I shouldn't be poking around in and not have to worry about it.

Thanks for bringing this up Wicked.

That Guy John,

You got it! As always, happy to help. FPSCreatorCleaner will only work in the installed directory. Minor issue none the less.

Wicked,
You are right, I even tried different variations of "programfiles" , "workingdirectory" and "Application.Info" in VB even with my app in the workingdirectory of FPSC.. with no luck..

Hmm.. Lee must be using something along the lines of ("programfiles, The Game Creators\FPS Creator") in order for the cleaner to search the directories to clean.

"WorkingDirectory" works fine for the standard FPSCreatorCleaner though.

It would appear that the cleaner just checks that the working directory is “FPS Creator“. Just moved my alternate version out of “The Game Creators” folder and put it in “Program Files” and removed the suffix. Worked like a charm.

EASIEST WAY: install an earlier update (if installed 1.18, install 1.17 or any other)

So the safest way to update is to uninstall FPSC then reinstall it. Then update?

That is how I was doing it, but now that I am aware I can run multiple installs...

The only problem I see with this, is if previous updates did not include updates to certain files.

Wicked, just varified your work around. Why didn't I think of this on my own? Now I don't have to worry at all about my FPSC install that I am working with because now I am able to have working copies to work on with my apps.

Will uninstalling it with Perfect uninstaller or something of the sort work just as well?

When doing uninstalls, I use CCleaner, then I run the registry cleaner provided with CCleaner a couple times before and after I restart my PC after uninstalling. Oh, and you have to go to and make sure the FPSC directory actually got removed after the un install. If not, delete it.
