Hate to burst your bubble But logo design should be done in illustrator. Thank your for the offer, why not contribute textures or something similar? Just make sure you offer the right service to the right product -A fellow Graphic Designer

IDEA: how about banners? Still simple, but very needed.

They look pretty good, but you should practice a little. I don't have CS3 but it should have filters which you can mess around with.

Gimp is also pretty good for those kind of logos

@ Design Runner

I use photoshop for all my logo design and stuff, but not those kind of logos.

I think the reason behind most saying it is better to do logos in Illistrator is because it is generally better to use a vector graphics because they can be resized with better quality. Logos need to be able to be resized for variations for print, web, signs and what not.
There is nothing wrong with using PS, just keep these things in mind.
If you want a vector graphics editor for free, try out InkScape. It is sort of like the sister product to Gimp.

Keep working at improving your work Slayer.

Technically Photoshop can make vectorized graphics, and resizing them without losing quality is not a problem at all.

Illustrator is more focused on that part and is the better option for logo design, but Photoshop will do just fine.
