Hi!

Since I'm new to 3D Modeling and practicing a lot, I figured it would be time for me to make my own Thread on these boards

At first, you'll see a lot of guns I model for the upcoming Shavra Game. I started characters aswell and you can see my first attempt down below

Tools used are:

Milkshape
Fragmotion
Paintshop

So yeah, a few smooth shaded guns at first:

Old G36 Model...I like that one

This is a bunch of deformed cylinders A diplodocus...my first character model.

Textured Guns

For the Shavra game. They are usually around 1k - 1,5k polys. Sometimes even below. I use a lot of stock FPSC textures for them.

This is the Scarabeus SMG. Made of old rifle parts by freedom fraction engineer (if you know the storyline from the older shavra episodes.). It supports and automatic fire mode but the unstable mechanism tends to jam which is why most people use the single shot mode.

The Anathol SMG is a simple but reliable Sub Machine Gun in the 9mm caliber. The interesting part is the gauge on its back that shows current ammount of ammo. The first version has been builded out of old SMG weapon and salvaged airplane parts.

SG 2 Rifle

This assault rifle is a simple bullpup assault rifle often used by the Indoctrinated. (a footsoldier class from the time fraction). It has a holographic sight (Fragmotion has horrible alphasorting which is why you are going to see this later). and a multicolored lasersight that swaps color if it is aimed at a heatsource.

More to come. Please drop a comment
I'm still new and there may be a lot of noobieness going on on these models. Hints and Tipps are always great

Awesome work Wolf.

The only thing I see wrong is that on the SMG with the wooden stock the hand grip area seems a little jagged, but since it's in an first person perceptive, it really doesn't matter.

Thank you, people! I wasn't expecting you to like it that much!!

Quote: "The only thing I see wrong is that on the SMG with the wooden stock the hand grip area seems a little jagged"

Yes Thats because it uses the stock FPSC MAS36 Texture. The handle on the UVMap is not as curved as on the model so I stretched it. That's not so bad though, as the handmodel will be there.

Since you want to see some UV Maps, here it is for the scarabeus

Most of my weapons use Stock Texture parts as its main ingredient. I hope that doesn't disappoint you since its not actually handmade.
It are collages from other modelpacks in there as well

This is a construction I made for the Shavra game aswell. It looks pretty nice ingame as you can see. Nevermind the leveldesign! I just started it.

Phew! After way too much time I UV Mapped that Pseudo UMP.

This was way too much work. The Texture is a mixture of selfmade (using photos) texture parts and EAI's G36.

That looks really good, however you're not going to be able to use parts of EAI's textures without his permission.

Simple fuseboxes... they look a bit blend, but I'm sure it'll look better ingame

Untextured design of the resistance flamethrower.

Gastanks...the concrete parts will be put in ground.

You are right, my UVMapping is ... still a bit rough.

I made this while breakfast:

The model has its...downsides, but I think I made it better with the texture Critics and Comments are more then welcome

a few poly wastes here and there (especially the handle), texture wise it is a bit too grungy, but it could work well for certain types of game, say for example i would love to see this kind of weapon in residient evil 4, but not in a war shooter game. not sure if you made the texture or not but just my 2 cents x)

and for the record, I am a man.

ah then it makes more sense like i said, it looks great, just a bit too grungy if it was for a war kind of game, modern warfare or second world war games

Yeah! They don't equip soldiers with old, rusty weapons
No matter where.

Thanks for the input!!

The wierd box inside the pistolhandles (can be seen in Wireframe view) are the magazines by the way.

I just made this gun:

Thanks guys!
I really love to model...but for some reason, now that I have the power to create whatever I want in my game...all I do is a huge amount of guns... I should see a shrink once in a while XD

However, Abdul Ahad asked me to make this gun, a HK 417.
The interesting thing was..it should use a 512*512 texture. I never actually worked with such a low texture resolution...not much space there. So heres the result:

Very nice Wolf, I'm defiantly enjoying the eye-candy this grunged-up sci-fi look you've gone for. It most certainly reflects your work on the Shavra game. It should, when all put together, be a tantalising feast for the eyes. You really have just sprung into brilliance with your modelling skills. Especially considering the fact you only started recently.

Astounding work Wolf

...and I should make more props... maybe I'm a gunnut. A gunnut that values peace and freedom...how does that fit?

Thank you, anayar

This was rotting on my desktop. Its rushed:

Uses stock MAS36 and Gamebanana texture parts.

Future guns will be made absolutely by me and I won't borrow any more texture parts from stock/freebies. I grew over this now

Comments on this giant guy would be highly appreciated.
I figured it would be a good idea to start modeling characters with monsters and then again, the most simple monsters would be giant insects

Thank you! I should definately learn how to animate so I can unleash my insanity on some character models in the near future =D

@Vent Next thing I'll do is a centipede... this is mostly a ribbed cylinder (don't even THINK of a specific toy here!! ) and a bunch of legs you can duplicate and mirror (just an idea...maybe I do another gun again).

I would love to model women

Hey!

I've unwrapped my bullpup SCAR. I've always been a fan of belgian rifles (in videogames, I don't like gun manufacturers in RL).

The most important part of the gun is that after I borrowed content from stock gun textures and free models I finally started to do everything myself It turned out alright for a first serious try :

It wasn't that easy to find a good pictures of bullets in a magazine

Here is a bonus texture in a more modern/arctic look:

Feedback is highly appreciated.

Unwrapping it went rather fast. It only took a half hour and I had most references already in my collection. Believe it or not, but some of the bodytexture parts are from a ivy leave and from a babe wallpaper:
