My Logitech 9000 webcam has an application that loads images from the webcam at a seamless frame rate. I've tried all of the methods of producing webcam images in Darkbasic on this form and none are fast enough for my game.

-Plan B-
I was wondering if I could only read a pixel from the Logitech application window! I know the window is still updating when my game is in the forefront because I can record a video of me playing the game. (And it's still much faster than the DB calls!)

The game takes input from the webcam like the X-Box motion controller. But with the slow dll calls and plug-ins used here make the response time in the game slow and undesirable.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You have used the free plugins to get web cam support in DB I assume? I have never really played beyond getting it to work in the past and had no real ideas what to use it for. The speed seemed good here, but obviously DB is not going to be as fast as a c++ application and I was doing nothing else but displaying the camera footage. Perhaps dark GDK would be more suited to this sort of app? You would certainly get a decent speed boost overall compared to dark basic.
