So, I was just wondering how to set up my xbox 360 controller for a FPSC game(wireless/usb)? Does anybody know? Thanks.

Cheers.

To use your 360 controler on your PC you need to download the driver. HERE.

To setup your FPSC game to utilize the 360 controer, look in the "builsetup" file in the root of your fpsc install. Find "xbox=0" change it to "xbox=1"

Will this make it only be controllable via xbox controller or both xbox and PC(can it give them the option)?

Ok I decided to give this whirl. I downloaded and installed the driver above. Plugged in my 360 controller via USB and it detected it. But all four lights are flashing and it does nothing. The instructions in the driver download are useless. Do I have to somehow sync the controller even though it wired to the computer?

Think you have to map the controls dude(that's what I do)

Does it look cool for blue text to appear?

I tried this before with no success. If anyone could create a detailed tut on how to do this from start to using it in a finished FPSC game I bet a lot of people would be grateful.

I know I would. I'm a console gamer and use FPSC on my laptop. I honestly think the only people who will even play my WIP are a few of my buddies who also use Xbox controllers on their pcs as well.

I appreciate that would take some effort but again I think the community would benefit from it.

I just found this on yahoo answers:

"You're using the Play and Charge cable? That's not going to work. If your controller is wireless, you must use the wireless gaming receiver which is a little oval thing with a button and USB cable. If you use the Play and Charge cable, it will only charge the battery pack because that's all the cable can do. The wireless receiver is there to replace the built in wireless controller receiver your 360 has. Once you have that, Windows 7 will update the drivers and you're good to go for most games. Some older games require you to use a mapping program though."

Sounds like we either need a dedicated wired controller of a wirelss pc adapter.

I though it needed the xpader for a second. But what I found is that you need to download the driver first from here. Then get a receiver from Best Buy or something and It will connect wirelessly... Some people say that it connects without it but I don't know. Other people use the xpadder...

Hi people. Not sure about wireless. Though usb style I found very easy a few years back. To build a game supporting controller and mouse I had to make 2 builds. Someone may have worked out another way.... not sure.

XBOX=1
XBOX=2 (inverted)

Also I included the xbox controller image Lee set up (I believe).

If you want to connect wirelessly it will cost $20 to buy the receiver. Then you can use it on your PC, to customize it even more xpadder should be used. If you want to connect it wired then just get the usb cord and plug it in and your done.
