I've just decided to go back to DBpro after taking quite a while away from it, since i have a young baby. Anyhow, i loaded up my last project, which i know worked, so anyway, i loaded it up, compiled it, hit F5 and it compiled said no errors... but nothing happened, figuring it may be a problem with my code or something since i have moved things around a bit since i last compiled it, i just typed in a simple bit of code, just a first person cam on a small matrix... and that didn't run either, i'm getting no error messages, as far as i can tell all is well... it just doesn't DO anything

Very unlikely to be your code. I have seen this before myself, but am not sure what causes it. Backing up your projects and reinstalling DB from scratch should work.

Rarely the editor decides to run the program you just written in the background with no clear sign of it is running, but it does! Close it in the task manager if you can find the name of it in the list, and compile again, it will run now.

If you can't find it on the list, i may just have a weak suggestion, it is about a stupid situation i created for myself a couple of days ago, and it was about shrinking the error feedback window to zero along with the ad banner. So when i compiled the stuff, and it didn't do anything more, under the surface it was giving me error messages about a typo, but it took me some time to realize this.

Still nothing i'm affraid. I uninstalled it, removed ALL registry entries, re installed it... nothing... theres no processes running in the task manager, i have no idea why it won't work, it's only been 7 months since i last used it... it won't even compile and run a smple input name - hello name piece of code.

I'd try my dark GDK... but i dunno how it works

If you have Windows 7 SP1 installed, then you need to update DBP using the 7.7 beta update.

The Service Pack 1 for Win 7 broke something and stops DBP programs from running. Hence the need for the update

Hope that helps

This sounds like the Windows 7 Service Pack 1 problem again.
If you have W7 and SP1 installed then you will need to upgrade your DBPro to version 7.7

Ha PRoF beat me to it.

It could also be your anti-virus blocking DBPro from making the actual .exe, try turning it off and compiling to see if that makes a difference.

AH that makes sense... it never occurred to me that it could be Windows.... (seems like THE most obvious choice now)

Already tried the anti virus thing....

Where would one find this awesome shiny update of epic win?
