Hi,

I got my copy of DBP some time ago and it\\\\\\\'s version 1.074
Will the update to 7.6 work with my version?

Thanks,

Paul

P.s, I hope this is the right section of the forum to post this in. I couldn\\\'t really find a more suitable looking one.

Yes, all updates will work. 7.7 is reporting a couple of issues at the moment so hang fire on that one for now.

Not sure about the extra slashes, it's never done that to me

Thanks for that.
I'm really far behind in the update stakes so I'll d/l 7.6 in light of what you just posted.

can you see loads of slashes in my post too or is it just me?
It might be something at my end.
some codes in the code boxes have slashes in before special characters when I browse the board.
Other posts underneath it confirm the code works ok for other people so It could be a problem with my browser.

I can see the slashes in your post. It never does that to me though. Odd.

The 7.7 update is still beta, as BatVink mentioned. However, you may need it if you (Or anyone who plans to use your software) use Win7 SP1. The SP1 update broke Darkbasic Pro's compiling technique. The programs will still appear to compile fine, but the compiled programs will only run on pre win7 SP1 OS's. If you update to 7.7 and re-compile the program, it'll run properly on any version of windows again.

If you decide to give it a shot, you can grab it here:
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=180294&b=1

The thread is full of update requests, but you can find most of the actual issues posted in there too. Most of them are fairly minor for most people as long as you know they're there. I haven't had any serious issues with it. (I use Win7 SP1, so I had to update.)

Thanks for the info. I use winxp and I don't plan on distributing any compiled programs just yet but I'll take a look at the thread and take it from there.

thanks,

Paul.

the \s have happened to me sometimes... No idea what the problem is though.

(well, I'm sure it has to do with a bug/quirk and escape characters)

Tell me if there's a broken link to images in a thread I post, and I'll fix 'em.
