I finally had some more time to take a stab at a BVH interpreter for DBPro. Last time, I parsed the BVH file, but the animation looks at bit off. So, I took another look at it, and think I got it this time.
I am using the DBPro limbs to build the animated object, and then limb rotation. The issue I had was that BVH provides global rotations in YXZ order. DBPro limb rotation uses XYZ order. So, I used EZRotate to translate the rotation in the correct order, and it works! As a matter of fact, it works so good, I might even suggest that the animator model was a female (that level of detail is visible). I have loaded up a dozen BVH files and the interpreter plays them all.
Next I will see about creating some characters and animating them.
Oh, and the point to all this? It is fun. And, if one had need of some kind of animation control within the code, and could not create/produce a pre-compiled animated figure, this might do.
Here is a clip of the animation
