I was just curious as to whether anyone has made money from a game they have made, not from competitions but by distrubiting it, like through steam or a similar method or personally distrubuting it to friends or anyone interested.

I haven't read any final details but I have read, here at the forums, of some people getting publishers and one going through Steam.

I think that most people who are actually selling/making money (good money) with their game will more-than-likely keep the information to themselves.

Yes, I made money off of "The Hunt for Osama" back when I released it for a short time.

Get FPSC, make your game regardless of what others say, and remember to have fun doing it.
Having fun is more important (and easier to do) than making a ton of money.

I agree with CE on the importance of having fun. If you don't enjoy making it, people won't enjoy playing it.

If you're keen to make some money, you probably have more opportunity with the app game kit than FPSC.

There are lots of guys earning money from their games.
Here is one from a 14 years old boy in India.

And his game in gamespot:

I think this one is free but when you say a 14 year old boy could make this then if you are older then you can even sell your game.

And I sold one but I won't talk about it until I get my money.

Have our guns was a mistake!!!
