I'm not sure if I put this in the right board. I'm not sure if it's a bug or something I have set up wrong, but I'm seeing some weird flat shading artifacts when I add windows or doors to a wall segment. Is this a known issue or do I just have a setting wrong. any help is appreciated.

The Circled area in the attached screen shot shows the problem.

Thanks,
E. Allen Soard

Hey, Dragon Eagle.

This artifacting is known, but it's not necessarily an issue.

If you navigate to your FPS Creator folder, and open up the setup file with NotePad, you'll find a setting called "lightmapquality."

The default setting is 5, so just add a 0 right in the text document to change it to "50."

Next, just close FPS Creator, then restart it. Ensure that in your Preferences, you selected Full Lightmapping and Full Shader Effects, along with High Texture Quality, and the artifacting should disappear.

Good luck, and tell me if it works! I hope it does for you!

That took care of it. Thank you!

Something to add in case someone else comes across this thread looking for the same solution. After you change the setting, take any static entity in your scene and move it slightly so it will rebuild everything.

Or, you can run FPSC cleaner to clean out all the .dbo files. The .exe for the program is in your main FPSC folder.

Glad everything worked out for you!

If you would, can you upload a new pic to show the change? Thanks!
