//Informations

"Doomster's Pack #1" contains several entities and segments to extend your FPS Creator with a big batch of new textures used to build your level and enhance it's visuals.
Instead of covering just one theme, this pack is made up of two invidual parts, that each have a different theme, but can still be mixed - it's also my first pack that is fully shader-ready (includes all neccessary shader textures and the segments & entities utilise bond1's Normal Mapping shader).

Also, since this pack isn't free, it can be used in commercial projects without permission or an entry within the project's credits.

//Contents

Part 1 - Derelict Apartments

- Segments: 837
- Entities: 679
- Doors: 11
- Textures: 205 (147 Walls, 23 Floors, 24 Ceilings, 11 Doors - Variations included, Shader Textures excluded)

Part 2 - Misc

- Segments: 519
- Entities: 412
- Doors: 11
- Textures: 135 (85 Walls, 20 Floors, 19 Ceilings, 11 Doors - Variations included, Shader Textures excluded)

//Previews

//Purchase

Payment is sent using Paypal and the pack will be send to the used mail adress (unless specified otherwise).

(in case anyone's interested: it's called "Pack #1", since it's the first pack for sale )

The included entities are just "architectural" objects to create a more detailed room structure (pillars, rotateable round wall, wall), but no props - so, the "concept" is like my previous packs.

@doomster is this segment pack already to go with the rooms made and shader attached or do i have to open gimp or photoshop to apply the shaders?

@doomster
the update i receive was corrupted.did not work.also why do you put the texture files in png format.I dont understand you make a program that take png format and make them dds format. but you make a seg pack
that uses png format.at this point we all know fpsc works well with dds format the shader only works for dds format.I would think everyone would catch on to this by now. i would have to reformat every texture to dds.this is just backwards.

okay its not corrupted I had to put the password in there like 5 times.

more than what meets the eye

Quote: "also why do you put the texture files in png format"

Because the file size is smaller than DDS and also lossless in terms of quality, as well as functioning with segment shaders (at least in X9 1.17, don't know about the other versions, let alone X10).

But I'll see how big the pack is with just DDS textures and if it doesn't exceed the capacity I have left on my webspace, I'll upload it - otherwise I'll have to host it on another website.

Quote: "okay its not corrupted I had to put the password in there like 5 times."

Did you copy the password from the mail? Since, from my own experience, that doesn't always work and often has to be typed out by hand.

Quote: "is this segment pack already to go with the rooms made and shader attached"

Yes, it works out the box (tested with X9 1.17).

Quote: "Doomster, I sent you a email last week"

Sorry, forgot to reply earlier... I'll make a "tutorial" on how to use the medipack and virus scripts of the "Doomster's Weihnachtsgebäck '9 & '10" packs and reupload them and also send them to you by mail.

Great pack you have doomster

I really like your taste in textures.
Judging by this, you don't like having clean and shiny ones, which I dont take a liking to all that much either
Something has to be dirrttyyyy.

All in all, How many diffuse textures do you have for this?
Unique ones, as in not reused to create different room combinations?

Also, keep an eye on your email, I'll be emailing you something later on.

Thanks!

Quote: "you don't like having clean and shiny ones"

True for the most part, I'm more using grungy textures than clean ones at least, since that more fits the maps I want to build, although I create and use quite clean textures ocassionally - and judging from the projects, most people like dirtier visuals as well.

Quote: "All in all, How many diffuse textures do you have for this"

With variations excluded, this are the diffuse textures the pack offers:

Ceilings: 30
Floors: 37
Walls: 74
Doors: 22

However, the variations really help to use the segments in different rooms, levels, etc., without the player noticing that similiar ones have been used before and also helps to keep the style of a map (as in; not thousands of completely different textures mixed that don't really fit the initial theme).

Quote: "keep an eye on your email"

Will do.

They're now included in the "Read Me" files that are provided with both packs, if you don't want to redownload them: '09 Read Me, '10 Read Me.
However, since they don't have anything to do with what this thread is about, just drop me an email if you have any further questions about those packs.

Quote: "do i have to do anything to your segments or can i download them install them and start building?"

The latter. You just need download the pack and the shader update, extract them to your FPS Creator directory, and that's it.

Hey, unfortunately I'm getting the same problem as michael x, I'm typing the password in (not just simply copy/pasting), and everything in the file seems to be corrupted (Total errors: 5345).

I tried just putting in the password over and over, like michael did, but to no avail. Must have tried putting the password in 10 times. I even tried re-downloading it, it's still corrupted however.

Not sure what's up, looking forward to being able to check the pack out soon though

Thanks!

Edit:

@Braden 713: Sorry the inconvience and trouble you encountered, didn't know that such an error with 7-Zip's password encryption exists / was wide spread.

I'll reupload the pack as we speak without any password and will drop you a mail when the upload's finished!

Is this all the content on your site all in one pack, if so this looks like a great deal here for 4 UK pounds that's a real bargain.
I can see they have specularity, do they have a normal map as well?

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure if I understood you right - did you want to know if all the content, that can be seen in this thread, is sold as one pack? If so, yes, "Part 1" and "Part 2" are sold together, as one pack.

Yes, every texture has a _D, _I and _N texture.

You have a web site, on the web site are many segment packs, have you put all of those packs all together into one pack, and this is that pack on this forum thread.

No, this pack isn't a "compilation" or "collection" of my previous packs (which are all free) that can be found on my website / this forum, but a completely new and independent pack.
