How do I fix glowing characters and items. I want my games to be dark and so I have the ambiance at 2 and the colors all at 2 also. But my characters glow and it looks really bad when I try and put them into the level because everything is dark and my characters are out of place. How do i fix it so they dont glow, at least lessen the glow anyways? Id really appreciate it if anyone could help me

You would need to open the textures in gimp or photoshop or some other paint program and lower the levels on the maps as a start.
Do a set then test the game to see your results. Also make sure that you have all the textures for the effects used. (you can see which ones are required by looking at the called effects file in notepad.) _d2, _d, _n, _i, _s

Hope this helps

Do you have character shader enabled at all in that screenshot?

It's more or less impossible to get the character to go totally black with the default shader and adaptive bloom without darkening the texture. The desert texture was made bright enough so that you can have a brightly lit outdoor scene and the character won't look dark. The green camo and black texture sets work a lot better in low/no light.

Anyways, your example is pretty extreme. I think having character shader on will help a lot but also check your light radius. He could be being lit by a large light on the other side of the wall or something because the shader/lighting doesn't take occlusion into account with dynamic entities.

Attached is an example of some guys in a dark room looking a bit more normal.

Never use plain white light, go with some greyish and dark colors to get better results

I am now having the same problem with my zombies from bond1's apocalypse pack. They glow now. How do I change the radius of light and character shader? This may be a stupid question but I dont know how to do either of them
