Is there an esay way in code to determine which shader model does a graphics card support?

You can use these:

get maximum pixel shader version()
get maximum vertex shader version()

Those commands don't seem to work correctly on my machines.

Another way is to use a shader to identify the version for you. There was a thread about this a while back. I'll see if I can dig it out.

That shader probably fails with DBPro because DBPro doesn't support Shader Model 4.

Back to the drawing board.
