Honestly it looks as their are missing files. Normally if you have a FPE file with out its bitmap icon you get the brain in a glass icon.
Question: In that folder under the entitybank under ww2 under characters, is there a bitmap for each of the FPE files?
If not, that is your problem. There must be some kind of permissions set if any of the update file from any of the betas do not install these files. These are installed with every update.
As for placeing them inside the game and seeing the shadows and not the character is even stranger.
As harsh as this sounds, You probably need to do the following:
1. Back up all your costum media and script files and textures and map files.
2. Uninstall all FPSC updates and the original install.
3. If you know how to use the registry editor, make sure all FPSC (The Game Creators) Stuff is out of there.
If not Forget this step because if you monkey around wrong then you could make your whole machine useless.
4. Reboot machine and run a quick virus scan.
5. Install the original FPSC programs that you received when purchased.
6. Run to see that you have the stock characters that were the Brain in a glass icons. If so then goto next step (7). If not, Do a complete virus scan. and try again. What Operating system. you may need to run installs as administrator.
7. Install the latest Version of updates you would like. Only the highest one you want.
8. Run to see that you have the stock characters that were the Brain in a glass icons.
If all this fails, then I would clear out all FPSC again and download the original from your profile history. Maybe you got a bad disc.
Check your permissions if you are on a Vista or Windows 7 system.
