A lot of my entities (mainly from the zombie apocolypse pack) are getting stuck/not being able to run on the prison gantry segments, is there any way to remedy this (such as changing the physics friction value under properties)?

On another note, how can I make the stock 'Skeleton (Pistol)' entities see further? I can't find the relevent section in their scripts...

Thanks you

If your zombies are getting stuck on the floor and running in place try this quick fix. Right click on them in the editor and press the page up button on your keyboard twice. Then click apply changes and they should be good to go. As far as entities seeing further in the main script for the entity there should be something to the effect of player within distance. Just raise the number in that line and the entity should see farther. I have never checked the main script assigned to that specific entity but that is usually how that works.I'd check it out for you but I'm at work and don't have FPSC with me.

Hope that helps.

Characters are not affected by weight and friction in FPSC.You'd have to raise the characters a little off the ground using Page Up/Page Down.

The AI's range is set in their main .fpi script.The commands are plrdistfurther=x , plrdistwithin=x , where x is the unit radius ( 1 segment=100 units )

cheers, I've tried the page up thing before, no luck - the issue also occurs when the entities run onto the prison gantry segments from another floor

i have experiment more though, and the issue doesn't seem to occur with the maintenance segments - shame they don't really fit in with my level - i was hoping to reskin them with the prison gantry's skin but i can't figure out how to (as i can only select them as segments and not entities)

think there's any chance of the game creators fixing the bug as the products r meant to be compatible?

Gencheff: "plrdistwithin=" I spent the rest of my day at work and drove all the way home trying to think of that. lol. Thanks for adding that for him.

Crimson: I doubt you will see any improvement there because the problem exists within the design of the segments. Their sizes are slightly off and the entity gets hung up on it as it goes over. (anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) There are a few bugs in FPSC but the real challenge is to find a way to work around them to still make in your game what you want and allows everything to work.

Reskinning aanything isn't that hard. Simply find the .dds file in the folder and take it into photoshop are gimp and make the changes you'd like and save it in place of the old one. Just remember to make a back up of the original for later use. using the one from the prison gantry wouldn't work as the .x model for each is different but you could make the maintenance one look more like it that way. There's all kinds of tutorals in the forum that go into more detail and I'm hardly the resident expert on anything but I reskin stuff to better fit in my game all the time.

Hope that helps.

Yes,this could well be the case.If the segments are not exactly 100 units, then a thing called null space will exist. The way FPSC handles AI is it moves them on a grid and if there are empty spaces on that grid, then the AI will jump up/down chaotically.

When I buy DarkAI I will start making my own mod and hopefully be able to replace the whole AI movement system /end self-advert./

I would recommend you use DarkAI instead of the regular AI scripts and instead of the maintenance segments, use plain segments with fitting textures of your choice and make some edges(handles) with static entities.DarkAI will automatically avoid static entities, unlike the regular AI system.
