I hope that what I am posting here is OK for this thread. But I thought that this might help some newbies to DBPRO create their own sprites and tiles for their first games. And I noticed that this one is not listed in the Rules sticky.

Another project I'm putting on paper is a 2D space shooter. I knew I would need an application that I could draw sprites with so I set out to do an internet search for any free application that would let me do this. I have Photoshop but I wanted something a little more dedicated.

That's when I found Tile Studio. I have only played with it for about three hours but have the program to be easy to use and quick to learn. And I have not created game sprites like this in a long time so I was a little rusty. The program can be found here:

http://tilestudio.sourceforge.net/

And here is the my first sprite I made with the application. I am sorry if this is not the place to post this, but I wanted to share it with newcomers to DBPro. Maybe the link can be added to the Rules page among other 2D artwork programs.

And with a little code work I now have an animated sprite in 640x480x32 full screen mode.

And I am including the sprite file for others to learn from. Not bad for my first bit of sprite work in DBPro, eh?

Lets get rid of that GOTO and replace it with a DO/LOOP.
