Actually, that is how it works. I've read over the outcomes of many circuit court
and supreme court rulings. They deem that if a company has released a new console, and no longer supports the previous systems(i.e. new games, continuous sales of older games), that those markets effectively go domain. In that event, it is no longer illegal to own an image of the cartridge/disc, nor an emulator of the system(as long as the system code was not copied, but the emulator uses fully original code to "recreate" the systems functionality). Now, a 360 emu, and a ROM of say... Gears of War? Yeah, they'll stick you quick with that scenario! And, I didn't break any rules of the AUP(opinion). In fact, let me iterate rule 2.5:
Quote: "AUP Rule 2.5 You use all information presented on this site at your own risk"
I didn't provide a link, nor did I name any emulation software by name. Use discretion and emulate at your own risk!
Anyway, past that, thanks for the support!
@NeuroFuzzy: Yeah, that will be done already, but thanks for the input. I hated that as well. Mainly because you would change screens and then fall to your death because there was a hole on the other side, and you were supposed to jump!
Anyway, to any moderators, I know the emulation subject is still murky. If a moderator deems this to be against the AUP, please don't lock this topic. Instead, post telling me your thoughts, and I will be more than happy to comply, and to remove all information I have provided, as well as any of my comments about emulation(including this one). Thank you.
If the universe isn't a program, then why do planets orbit in loops, death sparks life, and human interaction is buggy and glitched?
