Hi!

Its meee, and I was wondering what the license on the stock hands is...can these be used in commercial weaponpack releases or do I have to create my own?

Are there any hands that are free to use? A friend told me that simon benge's modelpack 6 hands are free now, but also for commercial projects?

I work on a modelpack. Its getting a lot nicer than I expected and I was wondering how I could get it to be an official modelpack?

Thanks for any help, people.

1.Think you can't use stock hands in commercial packs because there not your animations.
2.wait do the modelpack 6 hands come with animations?
3.Yeah you could probably create your own.

Does it look cool for blue text to appear?

The "stock" hands technically belong to Cyborg Arts. So, you would likely need to license from him to use in a commercial pack.

Simon's hands can be used commercially but only for FPSC which means they would be incompatible with the model pack license which allows for use in any engine.

Your best bet would be creating your own rig and hands to use because then you won't be beholden to another artist and you can build your own product line. Being able to tailor things to your aesthetic tastes should be an added bonus.

It may be an intimidating task to take on but it's achievable. When I made hands for MP9/10 it was my first attempt and so far from perfect but they're still kicking around all these years later.

edit: I know bond1 and jfletcher have both released FPS hands on this board but I don't know the licensing for them.

Best of luck

Hm, yes, but you did a formidable job on your hands.

If I create some hands now, they would certainly look like sausages and I would have to create new ones to match the quality of future packs, which would make the old pack incompatible to the newer ones =/

Hmm...I guess my best bet would be practicing a little bit more on some furniture and guns first.

You can have this hand. It's old so the UV isn't my best and you might want to re-texture it. If anything you can use it as a reference.

Hmm! Thank you! I wasn't expecting anyone to simply donate a model, thats great! Maybe I can build on it.

So, about the license...?

All the media from the 100th newsletter, even the textures are free to use for everyone. Not sure how to explain it any better.
