I'm just getting back into the whole DarkBasic thing and I was wondering if someone could answe a few questions for me... a lot has changed since the days since I was in the community... I see alot of old faces that bring back memories (cartography shop is now for SALE!? I remember when indy gave up on it and gave away the code... I still have it somewhere...) and I can't wait to bite into DBP...
My questions could probably be answered by searching through the forums and stuff, but I'm failing to find the answers, so if they seam redundant, I apologize...
So here are my questions:
1) Say if I make a model of a house using primatives, or a mixture of .X models and primatives, can I export it into a single model file that I can later just import as a single model? If so, will animations work?
2)I see various things about the md2 and md3 file formats but no clear answer as to if they work correctly or not. Say if I use a model Quake3 model editor and create a fully animated and skinned md3 model, can I use it in DBP? Just a straight yes or no will suffice
3) Along the same lines of #2, are full Quake maps usable? Lightmaps, collision, movers, etc?
4) Multiple light sources... is it still limited to 7 or 8 or whatever it was when DB first came out with usable lights? I left around the time they first came into use... do they have different types yet? ie: directional, point, etc... like 3dsmax lights?
Thanks for any help
