I didn't know you model, trubkiller

Looks nice already! Still a bit boxy, but you'll handle that

A professional will clock at least 20 hours on a gun. Of course, we aren't pros (most of us anyways) so about 5-15 hours is normal depending on the complexity (for me anyways). Then there is animating, and entirely different story

That seems like alot considering (I'm not saying my age)how young I am... What do you do with that time?

EDITD: I tried to make it less boxy and here is what I came up with:

hmm...I use Milkshape which appears to be faster than most modeling software. I need an hour for a gun. (the model) and 2 additional hours for Unwrapping and all that. I however split these 2 hours over 2 or 3 days because its boring.

Its not the software that's faster, it's your ability to use it and the quality you produce at the speed you go. If you can make a model that fast and you're not a professional, then it probably could use some better quality. To produce quality models you need to put in a lot of time and effort into it.

the last weapon model i made took me about 35 hours from start to final textured model. modelling 15 hours, uvw mapping 5 hours, texturing 15 hours

trubkiller its not bad for a first model but even after you played about with it you still ended up with a cardboard cutout style model you need to look into bevelling & chamfering there are very few things in this world that have sharp edges.

just remember a game model is not finished until its textured

cheers henry
