It seems to me that the help files are rather old. First, I had to install Direct X 9 to run the example program. I'm not gonna complain about that. But I'm on lesson four, and this drop down menu called "View" does not have the alleged "Display Mode" feature. Is this just me, or is it the help file.

And it won't make one bit of difference if I answer right or wrong. When you're rich, they think you really know! If I were a rich man...

The IDE that Darkbasic Pro uses has changed several times since that was written. To see the old editors View Menu check out the attached image.

Apologies; I didn't manage to the root of the problem with my first question. By attached image, I assume you mean the one on the help file. I did see it.

I'm wondering what how to use "project view mode", or the equivalent needed methods to do the same things with the present IDE.

Thank you for such a prompt response last time!

The difference between the two views is one only shows the help files in a small window and the other show the project properties (like attached media) and no help files.

The IDE you're probably using has the ability to turn off parts of the project properties but also has the ability to keep both the project properties and the help files. If you go to the Help menu and click on Darkbasic Professional Help it'll bring up the help files in a separate tab. Hold the left mouse button on that tab and drag to the right side of the screen and let go (till you see a box show up). That should move the help files to the right of the screen so you can see your project information on the left, the code box in the middle, and the help files on the right. To view a command in the help files move the cursor on the command (in the code box) and hit F1.

Thanks so much! So I'm guessing my project info was on the left the whole time then.

But that's great about being able to have the help file on a window off to the right! I like it; That's actually really convenient.

Alright. Two of my help files seem to have deleted themselves somehow as I was working on a program. I need SET OBJECT TRANSPARENCY and main.htm, if anyone has these two things.
