I've got DBPro installed but when i click the run button to view some code(even the demo code which comes with DBPro) I can hear the sound of the game (if there is sound) but the game screen does not show. I've tried using the project menu to show the game in a window on top, a window of a specific size and exclusive view etc. but the window comes up as black. The only code I have ever got to show is something like:
print "Hello"
wait key

or Do
Print"Hello"
Loop

No code more advanced than printing text to the screen will show!

I have tried setting the sync on, i've tried setting the screen resolution and colour depths, and nothing

My DBPro version is 5.1b (the latest). I've got Windows XP Home and my graphics card is a 256Mb ATi Radeon 9200SE ( Processor : AMD Athlon XP3000+ Memory : 512MB DDR). I have direct x 9.0b. My monitor is a 17" TFT with resoution set to (1024x768). anymore info needed? Got the solution to my problem? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE e-mail me --> [email protected]

Other people are having this problem for some reason. I wonder if its monitor timing...

What do you have for the screen refresh rate as set in Windows Display ?

In the meantime, reinstall and only upgrade to patch 4.
It seems to work pretty well for many.

DBeirne, you might be having the same problem I did. If so, you just need to download new drivers. See my general forum post.

I have a friend that has a similar problem with Radeon 9000. He is not a developer and I wanted to show him something that I had worked on. Does this mean that we will have to maintain multiple versions of executables just to be able to distrubite our stuff??? This is unexceptable, especially if any one of us is trying to hit the big time with any our stuff. Imagine what kinds of support nightmares are before us on sending stuff out [and for some this is probably a reality].
Note: He recently went from windows 2000 to XP Pro, so I wonder is there are some sort of changes between drivers? [I don't know full details of his system]. I had tested other things on his machine before the OS change AND before patch 5.1b and they worked fine.

Hey,
Reinstalling the Radeon drivers solved the problem on my friend's XP machine. Thanks Shadow.

Thanks for all the support. still not working though - I'll try updating/ re-installing my graphics card drivers. btw my refresh rate is 60hz is that a prob 'cause i seem to only have the choice between 60-70hz. anyway i'll try all your suggestions and let u know if the problem persists.
