If you google _Xran and _Xlen then you will see that it seems to be a common issue when updating VC++.

The best solution might be for me to compile a version with VC++ 2010, its good timing as I am working on an update this week. I will try to get this sorted for the update.

If you have VS 2008 installed but want to use VS 2010 IDE, then you can get VS 2010 to use the VS 2008 compiler by changing the platform toolset to v90 instead of v100.

So to clarify, your problem is because the library you're using is compiled with the VS 2008 compiler and thus will only work with VS 2008.

Alternatively you can recompile DarkImposters with the VS 2010 compiler.

Thanks alot Michael P.

@Parry - Let me know if that works, I will still compile a VC++ 2010 version for the update but hopefully this solution will work in the meantime.

@Parry - I have done my best to compile a VS2010 version but I am having all kinds of issues just getting a simple project running in VS2010 express.

So I can't test the lib I created

I'm sure I will figure this out in time but it might not make this next release. It would be great if you could test the Dark Imposters lib I have built for VS10, although it would have to be very soon as I want to send the update to TGC asap.

Give me an email if you see this and want to test, or let me know if the other solution Michael suggested is working for you.

Thanks.

Id be glad to try it out but my project doesnt use all the features of dark imposters so I might be a weak choice to test it out. Im not (yet anyway) using the animation, fade or camera features of dark imposters. I have alot of other parts of my project to fill my time so I can wait patiently for the vs2010 version.

Great, I don't have any contact details for you so if you could send me an email then I could email the lib back to you, my email is on my profile.

You don't really need to test it out, I just need to know it will work without linker errors etc, if one command works then it all will work.

Thanks.
