Hello everybody,

I returned to FPSC a few days ago. Now I've started to make new segments. But some parts of the segments are transparent in the game. I found out that these are the dark/black parts of the textures. But it looks crappy if I turn these areas white or something like that.
So ist there any other solution?

Greetings.

Since the textures are already made, it may be easiest to open them in your image program (pain.net, The Gimp, PhotoShop, etc) and turn up the gama or brightness a bit, just so they are not pure black. It just takes a touch.

Hi, thanks for your idea. I already did it on a few textures, but I hoped there would be also another way on it (For B/W Games or something like that)

___

I also already tried to exchange the color OOOOOO (pure black) to something more bright via GIMP tool, but it gets still transparent.
Here is an example of a "problematic" texture.

It turned the gamma now a bit up to be able to use it in FPSC, but the contrast lacks a bit.

PS: Sorry for my english

Well, the newer versions of FPS Creator don't really like JPG anymore, so I'd recommend you to convert the textures to a better format, such as PNG or directly to DDS, that'll fix the mentionend 'bug'.

Instead of converting and updating the segment files yourself, you may want to check out the Segment Texture Converter as well, which does all that automatically.

@Ched80: Thanks. Your name ist great too

@Doomster: Thank you for the link. I'll try it. Your tools are always very helpful. I am using your model maker for all my segments

Greetings.

Edit: Doomster, there was a message by "Anti Virus" on your converter.

Is this wrong alarm or was your download corrupted?

Depending on the virus scanner, it could bring up a 'false positive', which would have to be related to UPX for compressing the executable.

Check the results of VirusTotal here, if you're curious: Segment-Texture-Converter-1.0.4.7z.

Alternatively, you can also download the application from the FPS Creator Files page.
