Dynamic entities + Static entities = bad mix.

Whai he was trying to say (I think) is that the positioning of them will make a big diffence. Stairs are usually bad news for dynamic entities but it can still work. Maybe a pic in the ditor would help e see if the cramptness is the issue.

Cheers.

God help me, Please.

I meant this:

Dynamic entities WILL walk/go through static entities, therefore they don't go well together.

Hello Popmas

I made a small scene to simulate a collision between a model Model Pack 01 and some fences through a system of waypoints as you can see on the video link below:

[href]null[/href]http://screencast.com/t/0Ve83f0H35H

As you have seen in the video there was no collision problem between the character and the fence.

If you have not tried yet, you could uninstall the model pack o1 and install it again and test it in a new scene. Maybe the issue be fixed.

I hope this may help you.

Good Luck!

Every character walks through (almost) every (static) urban map pack entities... Ant the fence was WW2 or Urban Map pack entity. I can´t check it now, because i´m not home and i´m going to fishing to Norway at tuesday... (I´m not sure is that writed correctly )

P.S. Sorry about my bad English

Hello Popmas,

First of all, don't worry about your English writing, because English language it's not my native language as well.

So, let's go.

Indeed there is a collision issue between characters(avatars) and buildings in Urban Pack how it can be seen in the attached video.

<iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/25731703?title=0&byline=0&portrait=0" width="400" height="300" frameborder="0"></iframe><p><a href="http://vimeo.com/25731703">Urban Pack Collision issue</a> from <a href="http://vimeo.com/user7610629">JSOUSA</a> on <a href="http://vimeo.com">Vimeo</a>.</p>

In that video the building in the foreground the collision issue was fixed with a little trick, however in the background you can see the Nazi Soldier going through the wall like a ghost.

That problem in my opinion lies in the models mesh, perhaps the Urban Pack author with the aim of reduce the polygon count has deleted all the internal faces of the walls.

The easiest way to solve this annoying bug is to surround the building with invisible wall segments, do not use static or dynamic wall entities, because if you have waypoint going through the buildings (that's a crazy hypothesis at all I know but it may happen, unlikely but not impossible!) the avatars will go through them (walls) at all costs.Again you should use wall segments not wall entities (dynamic or static ones)

Now how to make an invisible wall?

Just make any transparent texture for example 64 x 64 pixels and save as. Tga or. Png. Now just choose any wall segment you want and replace the original texture by transparent texture you just made in fps files of the wall you have chose and save the .Fps file with any other name not igual the original wall segment.

That's all. Now you are good to go!

I think this collision problem with Urban Pack may be more one bug suspect with the collision system of the FPSC and must be resolved or should be solved by TGC staff,I hope so.

Perhaps this not be the best solution but is a solution at all.

Sincerely.
