hello guys , i was away for a long long time , and when i quit dbpro (maybe 2 years ago) the only available model that COULD load for 3D objects was .X but at that time X was already really really limited , it could only be like 5000 poly (at max) , couldn't have textures like the bump mapping or even normals etc .. , the animations were very very slow ... in summary it sucked

so , is there any new way to get a good rendering ? like OBJ files ? or is it like it was 2 years ago ?

Thanks for your answers and forgive me my poor english but i'm foreigner

You must be older than the mountains

Seven years ago you could load 3ds, x, Md2, Md3, Dbo, Mdl.

Those object are not so limited, and we can work in low poly.

You can get bumpmapping and much more effects with shaders like most comercial engines.

In my opinion, Darkbasic Pro is as good as 2 years ago.

Cheers.

Errr... 5000 polies? .x can hold more than 5000 polys. It does store texture data, and if you've ever seen a light shine on an object, it stores normal data. Bump mapping and shader stuff is also all doable within DBPro. Animations are as fast as you play them.

Uhh... modelling is hard, and rigging models is hard. I'm also not an expert at saving texture maps with the object (I always save two or more separate files and load 'em all).

Why does blue text appear every time you are near?
