I hope I am putting this in the correct place. I am having a issue with all versions now that I cant turn on or off shader effects. I went a head and installed the 118 and thought that it fixed the problem, then when I was going to turn off shader effects there was the same problem again. Here is a screen of my preference screen now.

As you can see the option is not there and I don't know how to fix this. Can someone maybe know how to solve this?

Hi willow

Not sure if this is going to work. Download the attached files and extract them to your “FPS Creator\Files\languagebank\english\textfiles” folder. These are the textfiles for V118.

I use windows xp pro., and what you see is windowblinds from stardock.

Thank you for your help, this issue has both the cosmic prophet and me confused.

WickedXGames: thanks for trying to help, but it didn't work. My shaders are turn on, hope I don't need to turn them off.

I even reinstalled the program and it still will not show up.

Yes I am. But this has started in all the versions I have used, so I don't understand what is going on. When I first install it, it is there the first time then gone after that.

Hi willow that is a strange problem you got there but a workaround is to turn them off in setup.ini.

set this :- useeffectsonentities=1 to useeffectsonentities=0 and that should turn ya shaders off.

best s4real

Pack ya games with vishnu packer its free.

Hi Willow,

This is an excerpt of the 'fpsci-050.ini' file located in the 'C:\Program Files\The Game Creators\FPS Creator\Files\languagebank\english\textfiles' folder.

Look and see if yours is different in the 'Box2' section.

Brian.

Do you have FPSC-X10 installed? I had the same issue with the X10 options showing in X9 (no shader choice, water level).

If Xplosys's suggestion doesn't fix it, you can try what I ended up doing which was uninstalling X10 and reinstalling X9 (If indeed you have X10 as well).

xplosys: here is what mine says and if I didn't miss something it is the same.

Errant AI: I don't have FPSC X10. I have reinstalled the program and directx 9 and still I get this for the preferences.

Thank you both very much though.

I use windows xp pro., and what you see is windowblinds from stardock. I just decided to change themes, this has nothing to do with my FPSC problem.

I know.
I was just asking.

If I may ask, since I've never encountered this before, do you have all the FPSC Default files in their respective places?

Willow,

Bear with me one more time. In the file 'fpsci-120.ini' in the same folder as before, about a third of the way down the file, look for this block and see if the 'Box2' section looks like this:

xplosys, it's the same.

Everything is in the right places and like I said before when I first installed it was there then when I looked again it was gone. This is the first time it has done this.

Sorry. I've no more ideas. There's always TGC support. Good luck.
