Hey guys,
I was just trying to make a simple ball model (a big ball) and when I set it down.... it's un-textured. Download attached. Could someone take a look at this and tell me what wrong? Thanks.

Cheers.

God help me, Please.

Damn... I cant for the life of me figure out what is wrong with your model. I applied a bunch of different textures to it in milkshape and NONE of them showed up! Did you ever try applying the texture in Milkshape (or whatever program you used) to make sure it was appearing?

For now I cant think of any way to fix it. Would you like me to remake it for you?

Cheers,
Anayar

As long as I can watch. (jk) But, if you'd like to, I'd love to. If you would make the ball for me I'd be grateful. I just don't get what's wrong with it...

Instead of using Gosphere, try using a plain sphere with 8 stacks and 8 slices

It's not mapped properly. When I open it with LithUnwrap it's just a tiny dot in the corner. When I resize and position it correctly in the mapping space, it textures properly.

How did you map it? I just did a planar map and then colored it.

The first issue I found was that your model was not centered. It was off to the side which may be why it didn't take up space in the mapping program. What mapping software are you using? Did you expand the model to use the whole mapping space?

I'm using UVMapper. I just chose planar map and saved it.

Try this...

Reopen your model in your modeling software and move it to center and resting on the plane. Right now it's off to one side and above the plane. There should be a center point indicator on the plane. Save it.

Open the mesh in UVMapper, then...

-Select all so the entire mesh is highlighted.
-Select mapping/planar/y axis.
-Move/scale it to the full size of the mapping space.
-Save the model and map.

Then paint and apply your texture again.

Yes, I did. I know how to move the mesh, but not how to know where the dead center is... sorry, I probably should have asked when you showed me. Cheers.

Right now I'm not home so I can't look in Milkshpe, but as soon as I get home, I'll take a look for that center point indicator. Cheers.

Anayar,
What tool in gimp did you use to make the bump look on the fan. (sandpaper-ish look) Thanks.

Ok guys,
First thank you for all of your help. The only thing is that the texture refuses to show in game. It is centered completely. I open in UVMapper and planar map it. Color it in and still a white untextured blob... [Download Attatched] I really must suck at this to not get a simple texture right...

Here is a similar model made in MS3d. Open it and see if you can spot any differences between it and yours. Whenever I open yours in LithUnwrap there is no mesh to work with. I'm not sure why.

Well, it looks worked and all, it wasn't a perfects sphere but it worked. The only thing is that I colored in the texture and it worked and all (kinda, download attached). Could someone take a look? Thanks.

Thanks Willow,
Are the "Test_D2" new textures as well or just the "ball" stuff?
