Hey all,

I decided to purchase MP53 and in the midst learn X9 again. However, I had this problem before and it was what stopped me using X9.

Basically, any light in the map will not render properly. Instead, random segments are coloured yellow and blue yet the ambience is the same function.

I've tinkered around with the INI and put the lighting quality to 75 but no luck. I even tried repairing FPSC and re-updating but nothing.

X10 works fine and after hearing the new features of X9, I'm desperate to get working with X9 again . Any solution(s)?

Another problem I had is that characters don't render properly and can be seen at one angle, along with their corpses. When I look about 135 degrees away from their position I see them, but it's like they're on a pedestal and rotate on an irregular axis when I turn. It's hard to explain :S.

I've attached a shot of the lighting problem.

Specs:
3GB DDR2 RAM
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ 2.3GHz Dual-Core
160GB Pro Tools AudioWrite-Enabled Hard Drive (contains Windows)
320GB Hard Drive (contains FPSC)
nVIDIA GeForce GT 240 1GB GDDR3

Other:
Pro Tools iLok USB
M-AUDIO Audiophile 24/96 PCI Audio Card with RTAS/Pro Tools support, main audio source
nVIDIA RedBlue 3D Vision

Display:
Resolution: 1824x1026
Output: HDMI, Audio Disabled

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Got a shot of the issue with characters. It's not just MP53 characters :/. Basically, when I turn the view they map around the view strangely, and I have to shoot where the muzzle flash is.

And I've tried to re-install FPSC but I keep getting a "Stopped Responding" error by windows then a remote procedure call message :S.

Anyone? Seriously? I'm at the end of my leash here and I don't want to have wasted £30. I've helped all I can and all I get is nothing? Seriously, 3 days and nothing? .

If you think I'm gonna stop I'm not, I've done a fresh install of FPSC and the same thing. Setup.ini:

Sorry for multi posting, but if I got an answer perhaps there wouldn't be so many posts.

I'd love to help, but like you, I have no idea what this could be, especially because X10 is working properly.

Is this the only place you've asked? Someone who developed FPSC, or someone who is more experienced with the engine might be more helpful, like Hockeykid, or Lee. Them, and a lot of other people who understand the engine's working posted here during 1.18's development, maybe they can help you.

Sorry, I couldn't provide any answer for your problem

Set:
dynamicshadows=0
They dont work anyway.

Maybe this isnt the best drive for installing windows onto and should be used as slave.

Are those segments custom? FPSC lightmapper doesn't like some poly's on custom meshes, especially if verts arent welded.

The view with characters may be down to your high resolution and aspect ratio, all games have this 'fish-eye' effect and may be exaggerated.

I thought that when I installed PT but it won't let me move it now D:.

The segments are normal meshes with custom textures, I tried stock segments too.

And I'll try the Dynamic Shadows thing in a sec, thanks mate

@Vent,

I did contact TGC Support and they said to update DirectX 9.0c which did nothing (had to install Supreme Commander to get it) so I frantically pulled my hair out trying to fix it . Thanks for replying though .

I'm sorry for sounding like a jerk in those posts, I wasn't getting very happy as I was under quite a bit of stress too so this got the biting tail .

-EDIT- Still nothing

Two more screens to come up, I noticed the most erratic thing ever o.O

First shot, normal problem...there is a large light at the far end but it doesn't render any lighting.

Second screen, the light works .

Sorry for the spamming, I want to get as much detail as I can into this.

I'm fearing that it's my GPU messed up but UDK, Unity and FPSC X10 work fine so it can't be a problematic DirectX :/.

I have no idea how old the dx9 drivers are with this Supreme Commander, search for Directx 9c redistributable and you should find it.
directx9c_jun2010 is I believe what you want
Of course x10 and others may run if you got directx 10 or 11 installed and even an earlier version of 9 but you must install the latest version for FPSC.

As dx is redistributable I think TGC should include this with their software so new purchasers dont have to be flanneling around trying to get it working or at least a direct link to get it online, or maybe I dont understand the meaning of re-distributable for developers where Microsoft are concerned.

Hey rolfy, thanks for the reply.

I updated DX9 to Jun2010 but the same happens. All I noticed was a smoother framerate . I did remove the previous ZIPs in the DX9 update (they were previous update ZIPs) to install just Jun2010 but that did nothing either .

If it helps, I've attached a DXDIAG of my Graphics Card, along with nVIDIA's in the next post.
