Ok, well I UV Mapped a table and it worked well and all, but when I box UV Mapped it and it mad this texture:

Then I textured it to this:

And I got this as an outcome:

Then I tried this:

And got this much better result:

So what I want to know is this, what does box UV Mapping do? I though texturing in the outlines would work but that didn't turn out so well...

Cheers.

P.S.
If anyone wants to explain the other types of UV Mapping that would be great!

EDIT:
Image links since the ones that I put up there didn't show...

I cant see any of your images. And box UV Mapping Unwraps the model like a box... It basically does this to the whole model:

You should group individual parts and uv map them separately to actually make the texture

Anayar

Sorry mate, but I dont have time to DL your images and look through them. If you could just attach them as jpegs that would be MUCH easier

Cheers,
Anayar

EDIT: Why are the images in the first post png's? Really, thats just going to make the loading time for this page crawl. Just post them as normal jpegs, theres no transparency anyways

The outcome you got has NOTHING to do with your texture... it is because you probably didnt import the .OBJ that UVMapper saves when you hit "Export Model" and tried to apply it to the original table? Then since there is no UV Coords, the texture gets applied to every face

Cheers,
Anayar

Oh, ok. I see. I loaded the obj. file but didn't export the model, only the texture.
Thanks!
