Hi, I'm starting to learn how to use Maya 2012 in a class at Gnomon, and I wanted to know if anyone who usees maya knows the art flow of getting a model from maya to FPSC, whether is is a static model, animated, character, weapon or segment. I know the basics of getting some models in FPSC, but I just want to know about the specifics that apply to Maya 2012 (or earlier if it will work with 2012) any help is appreciated

i used maya but not for game/fpsc models.
But i will be testing by making a model and will import it in fpsc after i finish one in max.
Skinning is real easy in maya though as well as the animation.

I'm still learning the basics in my class (it's a 10 week course), but I should have an understanding as well as practice with all aspects of Maya by the end. That's why I want to know about these things, so that maybe I can make stuff for FPSC as practice.

I used maya not a fan, a decent piece of software. I never got the hang of it, but if you are learning in a class. I want to see how it works for you.

If you live in California (US) then you should check out the digital arts school I'm at, Gnomon School. They have a great history in the industry, so I'm expecting to have a grounded experience by the end. also, is any one knows, my main concern for getting stuff into FPSC, is getting Characters in, that can use full shader effects.

Does anyone know how to convert a Maya file model into an .x file? or maybe some other export plug-in for Maya?
