Hey guys, had some free time the other day, so I decided to download Audacity and see if I could get the hang of mixing my own ambience tracks and sounds effects for future model packs possibly(using sounds from www.freesound.org). Figured it's never a bad thing to learn a new skillset. Anyway, these tracks are what I came up with so far since yesterday. They're nothing too special (about 3 or 4 hours of work in the four of them). Moreorless the end results of learning the basics around a new program.

Below are embedded videos from my Youtube channel with the full tracks so you can preview them before downloading. And under that is the download link to the .wav files for the four tracks. All original sounds used to composed these tracks are from www.freesound.org, and the tracks are released under the Creative Commons License. If you guys like them just let me know, and I'll make a few more every now and then and keep filling this thread with updates

(To a moderator: Wasn't sure whether or not it was alright to post this thread in the FPSC Media board since there's a seperate board for sounds and music, so if it needs to be moved then so be it. Just figured more FPSC developers would find it if it was on this board :-X)

Thanks Vent. Having a bit of trouble getting the .wav files uploaded. The forum isn't letting me attach a file, and the megaupload link says the download is temporarily unavailable.

EDIT: Finally got the download for the .wav files up on Filefront. Time to call it a night.

Very nice Kravenwolf! My favorites are Dead Frequency and Minutes to Midnight, they would make excellent ambients in a horror game.

These are very nice!
I'm going to assume they can't be used commercially right?

I knew there was an email I forgot to reply to...sorry about that I see no reason why it shouldn't be posted here, this is a models and media board for FPSC so go for it.

@Kravenwolf - Good Job, I could use some sounds similar to this. Audio production is one of my specialities however, with so many other tasks to do all day everyday this kind of quality is rather good.

Is there any chance you could do more 'Ambient' 'Loops' with flawless loops?!

Muchos Gracias

@Fuzz, thanks.

@Thraxas, thanks And yeah. That was my thinking too, I just remembered in the past a few users' music/sound effects posts had been moved to the other board, so I wasn's sure.

@Sting, I might be able to take a shot at looping more tracks in the future, though to be honest; any tracks that already loop were a matter of coincidence lol. I haven't actually given myself the chance yet to learn how to loop tracks that don't start/end in silence. When I get some more time to play with Audacity, I'll see if I can find some tutorials on that. Don't suppose you have any you might be able to point me to now off the top of your head, for future reference?

@Kraven - I have a few already on my other computer, when I get back this afternoon I'll fire them across for you.

I have always used Goldwave since 1998. So i'm self-taught using that, back then there were no such things as 'tutorials' or hardly any usage so I taught myself quite a lot through trial and error. Goldwave enables you to see the stereo waveform a lot more clearer than Audacity so finding the exact wavepoint to loop can be quite easy, if it's not easy you can quite easily edit it yourself with bypasses and filters to create the loop extension yourself.

Give me til later this afternoon and i'll fire you an email over!

Thanks guys. Haven't done any other audio work as of yet because I've been doing some more work on the "Canebridge Hospital" model pack that I hope to get released sometime this coming month or the next. Should have a teaser thread up sometime next month though.

@sic1ne, I'm not exactly 100% on what the terms of the liscense is when considering commercial. Probably best to fire off an email to freesound.org and see if they can clarify.

Thanks guys.

@sic1ne, I don't see why it wouldn't be but like I said; best to find out from the source what the terms are for the CC license if you do plan on going commercial with your game, or sound effects. And, thanks for the offer, but this model pack is going to be commercial, so I can't take any contributions from other members for it. Of course, that's not to say there's anything stopping you from making your own thread and giving away your hospital sounds there.

These are great kravenwolf. I wish I would have seen this thread earlier. I just made a track with the same atmosphere of "Candy Nightmare". But yours is way better.

I recently learned to sleep with my eyes open. ..... God am I tired
