Just dropping by to say hey, also I just dug FPSC out of my pile of games to start creating a game, and I was curious if there were any recolored US Marines? or any tutorials on how to recolor them?

the color I was looking for: Tan(like Army Men Tan)

thanks for the help if any.

Hello Da Doom Guy! Im pretty sure model pack 53 comes with tan marines, but if you want to recolor a character im pretty sure you just edit there textures. Hope this helped!

That's why I said like the Army Men, because the tan Marines in pack 53 are most likely just Desert camo on uniforms, and i tried retexturing, which is why I asked if anyone had any tutorials made, or anyone had them pre-made.

Oh, well you can check out mp53 from the game creators website. It's not just desert camo on uniforms. And have you used the search button yet in the forums? There is bound to be a tutorial for re texturing something...

No, but I used it for "Army Men" and other things like that, after talking with some old 3DO buddies(just roughly three of us left holding onto the remnants of 3DO's Army Men)

Unhelpful Titles

Please do not simply write "Noob Question", "I am a newb", "One Noobie Question", "A question", "Please help", "This isn't working" or anything similar as the title of your post. We have a search facility, and meaningless titles do not help others find answers to their questions. It will also help you to get quicker responses if people have an idea of your thread content.

I reject your reality and substitute my own...

that doesn't change the fact that if you did search(or don't know what to search for exactly) that I can't find it.

I just searched last night for "retexturing" "recoloring" "Army men" nothing showed up except for Army men, and those were just talking about the games themselves.

I just found what I'm looking for(somewhat) this is at least an idea http://ranger.gamebanana.com/img/ss/skins/31623.jpg

the image is kinda big, so I attached it with a link, or could I port models from day of defeat Source(I have the Army Men mod, can I use models from DoD?)

Haha, it's funny that this came back up because back in 2009 I created the "revival of the Army Men" game and on that thread alot of great community members posted screenshots of army men and various texture designs. It was a pretty cool little project, even though at the time I wasn't skilled enough to have it go where I wanted it to.

Here is that thread if you are interested: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=152146&b=25

Yeah, texturing can be confusing as far as how it works when you first start. I recomend intalling paint.net, opening up some of the .dds files for the entities in your fpsc directory (which is on your local disk in case you didn't know) and studying that to get a feel of how textures work, and how they can be edited.

Just keep searching and learning. It can be ery hard and I'm still figuring out how to change a muzzle flash on my gun and I've been using this program for 3 years. But then there are people like EXu corportations that adapt very quickly. I'm rambling now. I'll stop.

I did that already...(paint.net) didn't work out well because there's nothing, not even a guide on how to retexture/recolor...

Also, is there any way I could take those from the DoD:Source Army Men mod? unless someone would be kind enough to retexture just the Germans and Americans?

I actually did try retexturing, but it was VERY ugly.

if someone could even post a tutorial up, that'd be nice.

try GIMP, best free-paint and near photoshop in behavior and handling.

everything else is a question of how to paint. learn coloring, structure-painting etc. there are thousands of tuts in the net for gimp and pencil techniques in paint-progs.
its not even everything about learning, its mostly a question of imagination, experimenting and feeling.
