Just got the app (1.0) a few days ago, and found but did not navigate links to an FPSC Free Edition and cheaper FPSC retail links. Spilt milk and all. Anyhow, cracked the "cover" to The "Official" FPSC manual, and actually had fun creating my first "Design Document." I'm a veteran non-gaming coder and application developer/documentician* (*I just made that word up, but someone else more clever probably did it first) that is no stranger to doing the job right from the ground up. This means before you do any "real" work (all project-related effort, in terms of man-hours/expense, IS real) is coded, you have to have at least an outline. Rather than do what I did in school, and after, draft a flowchart, I did as the guide suggested...in the "attached" environment...which is more visually striking than where it really happened (but I think we've common grounds for understanding that)....

Just saying hello, but I'm sure I'll have questions later.

Welcome to the forums friend. I think you have done what no beginner (myself included) has ever done...read the manual. The screen looks good. A very nice environment. If you do need help I think you'll find the people here are always willing to offer advice. I do suggest you read the "stickies" threads in each forum topic as there are a few rules for posting, but it seems like you have a good start and good background. Good luck and happy coding.

Thanks, RL. Still reading, but not making much headway. Whaddaya call it when the Getting Started stuff you find is more arcane and abstruse than it's supposed to be? HAS anyone written "FPS Creator For Congenital Cretins?" -> Sigh! <- I really would like to get started on my first game sometime before I finish simply reading the manual...and YouTube contributors blithely skip over things dummies like me need to know. Is there an Idiot's FAQ somewhere regarding FPS Creator?

This putative "anyone" that needs no special knowledge or education--the one that the developer uses to get consumers to purchase this application--is evidently a magnitude or two above me....
