In my test level for my game im getting around 1200-1400mb in my first level. Is this ok for a level? I still get 60 framerate, but i was just wondering if this is high or not? Thanks!

Well I think the max VM for a level is 1875mb and if it goes over that your level won't build. So I guess it doesn't matter as long as you stay under that.

That's what I get with an almost maxed cap level but just because we can run levels at 60 fps, it doesn't mean everyone else can. So lower the better I guess.

Hope I helped.

Alright i will try to keep it low, but also try to keep the quality of my game as well!

Thanks Fuzz!

EDIT - Also, does anyone know what the FPS Creator Cleaner actually does? Like i know it goes and deletes the .dbo, and .bin files. But what is it actually doing? Does it speed up my game any? Does it help out my editor? Hope someone can help me! Thanks!

Yeah, try to find a good balance.

I'm not exactly sure what it does but it works haha. For example, when I was adding attachments to weapons using milkshape and fragmotion, when I got them back into FPSC they would only work if I deleted those files for the gun.

So it can't be a bad thing Hopefully someone else can help you out.

dbo and bins are faster compressed copies of the data they copy. instead of reading the original data, fpsc reads the bins and dbo, so that is the reason why changes dont appear before you run the cleaner.

there are some stories around that you cannot build games with many levels when each level get build to the max, so readybuild games may have some limits in overall-size. i´m noob to fpsc, so didnt test this out yet.

The Cleaner deletes all DBO and Bin files wich are created the first time the model is inported into the editor. They are copies of the .x and .fpe files wich are editable outside FPSC. But in order to make the changes work you have to create new .dbo files by removing the old ones. The cleaner just removes all tose filese but if you only want to edit one file it's better to remove it manualy

Basically DBO and BIN files make the level load FASTER... Dont delete them unless you are having a problem or are editing a model

Cheers,
Anayar
