I am new to DarkBasic Pro but I have recently experimented with importing directX models made in Blender. I noticed that if I make a perfectly round sphere in Blender, export as .x and take it into DBP, the sphere is stretched. It is no longer perfectly round but intead, shorter and wider than expected. Is there a solution or a reason for this?

Perhaps it's your aspect ratio - you should try setting the resolution to your desktop resolution, and see if the sphere is round again.

I have a fairly new HP laptop with a widescreen monitor (16:9) that I normally set to 1600x900. When I force the resolution to 800x600 (4:3 ratio) the computer stretches it to wide screen. I guess there is some way to make an executable that is in a 4:3 ration window rather than full screen.

Yes, I put it into an 800 x 600 window and the sphere is round. Thanks.

You might also try setting your FOV to 45 usually works, or experiment with the FOV. It happens when an object moves off to the side of your screen it appears stretched.

Yes. That puzzled me when I first noticed it. It's an inevitable effect of projecting a 3D scene onto a 2D screen - the projection assumes that the viewer is sitting in the same position as the camera relative to the screen. Just move your head around and back and forth to see what I mean. You should find a position where the distortion more or less disappears. Stand some distance away from the screen and the distortion is really obvious.
