Hi, new to this so I hope I'm not posting this in the wrong place. Did look at the categories and this seemed the most fitting. If I am in the wrong place you have my most deepest, humblest, crawling-on-the-groundest, begging apology.

The Problem:
A portion of my program searches through folders. But it crashes when it encounters (and tries to search within) any serious OS-restricted folders. Its all good to say adjust my security settings or whatever but this has got to run on other people's computers and there in lies the problem. Is there any add-on or dll I can use that will return if a folder is restricted or not? There seems to be nothing internally for DBPro to do this. Thanks for any help.

Problem solved. I just stopped it searching in any Hidden folders since all restricted folders are "Hidden". Seems to work. Pity I couldn't make it more specific (checking permissions) but as long as it works, it works and that's okay by me.
