It's taken me a while testing everything I can think of to get an arena game to work over the net. At first the network was easy enough however after upgrading to Win7 I started having issues. But I've found disabling the Microsoft Security Essentials AND the windows firewall (on both host and client) work flawlessly every time.

Prior to this, I had tried to allow FPSC games through the firewall added them to any ignore list possible but I had no luck until I disabled everything on both machines.

Am I the only one who has found this to be the seemingly only way to get games to work every time?

P.S. The server was sitting in the DMZ in the router as well. This is one of the settings I'll tinker with next to see if it matters.

I read a post somewhere that suggested using zonealarm for your firewall and because I was having the same issue even with simple maps so I tried it, set it to game mode and didn't have an issue after that. that told me that it was more of an issue with windows firewall
