Hello all! I just read an article that said that a cancelled feature for Rareware's perfect dark would allow players to upload a picture of their face, and then the game would translate that into a guard head model for the game, making adjustments for skin tone and the like.

I guess what I'm asking is how do you take a picture of your face and stretch it all out like it is when you open the texture of a character in fpsc. Any advice you could give would be appreciated. Thanks for reading!

Youd have to take a picture of your face then fit it to the UV Map of the character... not hard at all if you know what your doing. Takes forever if you dont... So if you dont i suggest asking someone very nicely

Cheers,
Anayar

With all respect anayar, I knew that. I'm asking how you do that, and trying to be nice.

You would have to take pictures of the x,y, and z axes of your head (pics of the side of your head, your hair, face, and possibly your neck, and also the back of the head) and you would have to blend them together somehow so the face looks seamless.

Ok, well sorry mate... maybe you should have been a bit more clear??

Anyways, you will need to take the picture of your face, from the front, cut it out of the original picture, Paste it onto the character texture, Move it around untill it is close to the original texture (The nose, mouth and eyes are in the right place). Then cut the leftover skin from the character (trust me, there will be some) and make a new layer (or just select it), and adjust the brightness/constrast till it somewhat matches youre skin tone... and BAM! Youre a character

Cheers,
Anayar

this isn't working. The face looks good, but the neck and everything else on the face looks terrible. It looks like just a chopped up texture. Is there a better way to adjust the skin tone? And what do you mean by left over skin, from the photo or the original texture?

Cheers

Bond1 you have saved me! Thank you so much for all you have given this community. It's funny becuase I was using your male civilian model as the base model for my characters.

are you talking about putting your face on a character? who here plays grand theft auto 3? yeah many people do that all the time. i always get excited to see me as the main guy. im not sure if this might apply but for gta 3 we just edit the texture file on ms paint. pasting on my face.

It's okay, I've figured it out

@DevilLiger: I'm talking about being able to create whatever character I want. I've already made a Jaws and Baron Samedi model, as well as 5 members of my family and a James Bond dude using the advice I revieved here from Bond1 and Anayar
