OK, I've tried at this for about a year now(call me dumb) but I can't get it. Is there any way other than "Entity Maker" to make my own entities? I mean chairs, boxes, anything I animate in a animation program. And even better: how can I make LIVE entities, that shoot me and stuff.
I have character shop but don't know how to use it.
Also, how do I make my guns aim down the sights? Speaking of that...how do I make my own guns?
Also, why does my game seem to be squished when I test it? It seems like it's stretched out.

Search for ( Entity workshop 2.0 ) this is an easy to use tool to make entities that you have made to work in fps creator.

As for making them for wich is a model, you will need to learn how to make a 3d model, eithe by using Free Blender or Milkshape and even £d Max or any other 3d modeling tool that supports DirectX ( .X format )

And also creat your image and save as a DDS format as that is the best and works fine in entity workshop, (Note- When naming your texture put _D2 at the end of the file name Example ( car_d2 ) or Entity Workshop will not see the image, as this relates to UVW Mip map texturing.

I use DDS Converter 2.1 to convert images to DDS format, its easy as 123

I would start of just creating a Box in a 3d program save it as IE box.x
import it into Entity Workshop
Then inside entity workshop use the import texture and use the image/texture that you have made and convirted using the DDS Converter program
once all have been imported and looks ok then use the export entity button at bottom right and it will save it into your Entities\Entity Workshop folder in Fpsc

But you will need to setup Entity workshop after you install it to function correctly, but it practicly does it for you upon install

oh their are Tutorials inside the Entity Workshop that will show you how to use it.

As for characters, you will have to model your own or find some to use.

once made then you will have to Rig it then animate all the moves that make it do what you wan't it to do. IE Walk,Run, Jump Extra, i use Framotion, i find or found it the easiest tool for me to use, Simples

And finaly watch loads of Tutorials and Read Read Read untill your brain explodes and when it explodes tape & glue it back together for another onslaut!

Basicly a Damm lot of practice

And start with the simplest model untill you get to know how and what things do.

Have fun

I'am not GOD but i can make you see again by taking my fingers out of your eyes and i can make you walk again by taking your beer away, but if you take my beer you will not walk again

This tutorial (by me ) Explains everything clearly. I would read it before limiting yourself to entity creation programs.
EDIT: My link disappeared? Here it is again: http://fpsc.wikia.com/wiki/Pipeline

Hello golliath9,

IMO I would not google your question, you will only get more confused and make no progress. (That is my experience).

It seems you and I are in a similar boat: we want to make custom media! In order to do that, you will need to make a few files: a .X model file, a texture files (.TGA, .DDS, for example) and an FPE file.

To make the .X, you will need a 3D modeling program, as some of the others have said above. To make a texture, you will need a professional painting program. You can make an FPE by copying another entities FPE (if you are going to make a character, then copy another character's FPE) and filling in all of the information in regards to your model (model name, texture name, etc.)

I suggest you check out my post called "Your favorite entity making programs". I started the topic in order to answer my own personal questions and get tips from Pros. The results have been great. I have received lots of suggestions from experienced people, and have received a lot of help and pretty much all of my questions have been answered.

Please note that the topic does not tell you how to make an entity from the ground up. It only talks about programs to make an entity, as well as a few of the steps towards a final product.

Hope it helps,
Captain Coder
