I wanted to say thank you guys. I love DBP so far. I been using the free version and its so fast and clean. I love it. I even checked out the BlueIDE. GREAT stuff there too. AND you guys include a way to use a BMP / ICON in your EXE file. Where as your competition "coughs" that I tried does not. I wish I had spent the month here first. So much for hindsight.

I was able to get a working graphic progress bar up within minutes with a percentage screen. Do you realize HOW HARD that is in other languages ?

Anyhow, I wanted to express my thanks and I will be getting the bananza as soon as I can. Thanks again guys. Keep up the DBP versions.. I want to see more !!!!

Glad to hear you are enjoying using the language! It's really very versatile.

I look forward to seeing your work!

Welcome to the community.

Yes, I'm happy you are having a blast with DBPro as well. When I was first starting out I was using DBPro and also trying to learn a bit of C++ and I tell you what, DBPro was far easier. DBPro was like sitting down and watching a movie while c++ was like making the movie. Although I have recently re-ignited my flame for learning c++ as I think it is a great language as well.

You may have heard about it but if not, TGC's latest creation is AppGameKit (see top board) which is literally a 2D cross-platform version of DBPro. I've seen some of the code and it is like DBPro's brother except only 2D.

@Baxslash Its all good bro. After what all I been through on other forums for various languages, your one of the kinder people. hahaha.. Besides, I learned long ago to grow a pair. I'm too old to nit pick now days.

@Hodgey Hey thanks for the comments. Yea I know about AGK. Sadly though it doesn't fit what I need it for. Linux. Otherwise I would be all over it. And I have a love hate relationship with C++. hahaha. I love Code::Blocks as my IDE of choice using MinGW when it comes to C++.

As for BASIC, I have tried many over the past couple years. So far, DBP has been the best. Not only does it run smoothly and has a LOT of functionality, but the forum folks here are a LOT nicer then some of the others I have interacted with. People tend to take noobs as a bad thing, but the reason we are noobs is because certain things elude us until its explained. Not everybody can pick up a book and go "Eureka". The world doesn't always work like that. Its why I am so grateful for this forum.

I'm one who tries to help noobs when I can. I have made a few tutorials in the past for various things. And beings that I am a noob here, its interesting to be on this side of the fence.

Anyhow, thanks for the comments guys.

Defninately not. I believe the appropriate joke here is "A book. I hate book. Book is stupid!".

Read this thread and that joke will make sense.
