Im sorry again for posting so many threads, this one is more important than most of my other threads. If i am posting too much, feel free to tell me so i can change that. But now onto the real reason i posted this:

So i was looking through the showcase and the WIP sections for some games to play because i love playing FPSC games, and i noticed that there are only three pages of the Showcase section and 57 pages for the WIP section. So pretty much that is saying that about 90% of people that start an FPSC game never finish them, right?

I currently gave up on my WIP, and am working on a new one which is turning out a lot better than expected. I will upload it in the WIP section later on when i have more detail. I WILL finish that one, but now im getting sidetracked...

Is there any place that has all the old/new fpsc game/demos? I found some really nice and fun FPSC games in the WIP section, but since they are so old the links are broken and i went all sad

If you want to comment on this, go for it. If no one wants to then a mod can lock this i don't care. I just wanted to see if anyone noticed this as well. Thanks for reading guys, and i hope someone comments!

@Exu Corporations

The thing about the showcase is that they are completed or demo games. I have a game in the showcase, which was a year in the making. There is allot of work that goes into a finished game and many will give up before they have ever got half way. The WIP is just that work in progress and many of them are never completed, that does not mean it is a bad thing. It just means people are learning and getting feedback on the work they are doing.

Thats just my take on it.

Which is pretty much what i was stating. I didn't mean it in a bad way, what you say makes total sense. My first game in the WIP section got horrible reviews but it helped me in the long run. And i will search for you game, i wanna see it

Thanks for commenting!

In a nutshell.

Showcase is ONLY for completed games.
WIP is Usually for games in a WIP.

Thats the 'norm' around the forums anyway.

For example, take Wolf's Relict project.

As its a Work in progress, it belongs to the WIP forum. He also regularly updates it with progress and takes critiscism on how he is doing with it.
When he finishes with the project, he will create a thread in the Showcase forum, with a link to download the finish product, etc etc.

You don't see hockeykid or xplosys or knxrb, or any other people that develop software for fps, posting their threads in the showcase or WIP boards.

They are generally just for games. In reality, attention is what things like that need for success. So those kinds of things are posted here, in FPSC chat, or sometimes models and media, because they receive a lot more attention.

Also of note, is that the Showcase section is newer than the WIP section. The WIP section used to BE the Showcase section till it was renamed and a Showcase section was made for completely finished works.

I completly agree with everything you said. I knew Showcase was for completed games and WIP was for work in progress's...

That is very true, wow i didn't really notice that before but now that you said that i do..

(Off topic) And i wish they would make more boards for FPSC (In the forums, like product chat, showcase, etc..). To give it more of a personal feel, if you know what i mean? Anyways, thanks for commenting TiTaniUm!
