so ive made an arena game but when i try to play it the only options in the menu are new game and exit, not host game or join game. when im in the build game menu it doesnt give me the option to add those things to the menu, so when i click new game it just spawns me in the map saying, "waiting to join"

A more useful title is what you should have done

But on topic, it seems like you never made your map an actual multiplayer map. Are you sure you click Multiplayer in:
File>Preferences

Also when you started this map, did you click "New Arena"?

Those are my ideas, sorry if they don't help..

i didnt click new arena from the start but i did go to preferences to change the map to Multiplayer. Thanks for the help tho :/ i've been searching around and it seems a lot of ppl have had the same problem..

Yes, you have to start it with new arena is what i have been told. It works for me only if i do that..
