I use it to make my Droid games, and I like the way I will be able to convert them to web apps and other platforms very easily, if I so choose. I don't think it's weak!

And since C++ is now no longer compiled directly to machine code, but to byte code (interpreted by Framework.net), Java has about the same power as C++.

.NET uses a JIT compiler so it isn't intepreted, it is compiled before it executes. I believe most Java VMs do this now as well, at least for certain parts of the code.
