Hi all,

I am planning to buy Dark Game Studio Bonanza but I have some questions:

1-Do you think it will be easy to update it to the future versions?
2-Is there a chance to reinstall the software as I am continously formating the Windows Operating System I have?
3-Can I use the bundle that the Dark Game Studio Bonanza with the DarkGDK?
4-As I am a student, can Lee offer me the electronic versions of Hands on DarkBasic Pro Volume 1 and 2 FREE?

Did I ask a lot questions ? Maybe, readers will start how much I am penny-keeper?

Just I am a student! Please answer.

Cheers,

Welcome to the forums, D_A.
To answer some of your questions:

1 - Dbpro is constantly updated. As long as TGC updates, the answer is YES.
2 - Yes, as long as you have the DVD, you will be able to re-install the software. Some programs are downloads, and they are kept available on the TGC site.
3 - The DarkGDK is part of the Dark Game Studio Bonanza.
4 - That is a question I can't answer. Heheheh.

Cheers

1-3 have been answered nicely.. so, 4:

I don't think those books are produced by TGC, are they? So if that's the case, no.

Thansk for your replies. I should buy right now if Lee confirms the option 4. Why not? We are students!

Well like Indicium said, Lee may not be able to arrange this because they may not be TGC's work. TGC acts as a vendor for other developers as well. Not every product on the TGC website was create by TGC e.g AC3D, 3DCanvas, T.Ed etc.

Also, considering how much you save on the bonaza pack ($170) it is unlikely he will hand out additional products for free. A simple solution would be to purchase the ebooks with the money you save on buying DGS.

I hope you do decide to buy DGS though, it is a lot of fun!

I just wanted to buy it but the checkout says I should pay £6.46 extra for VAT as the UK is a VAT Country. I think students do not have to pay. Am I right? Because, when I work inside the university they always return VAT.

Hi all,

I am proud to announce that I bought the DarkGAME Studio Bonanzo. It costed me £38.71. Anyway, I am now moving to waiting mode. Still, I hope that Lee will offer the free versions of the books (I think he can arrange this).

Anyway, good luck to me! This is the first time in my life I pay on software. I hope it will be valuable.

I will start to design a paint (or drawing) specifficall for electrical and electronics students to test my knowledge and then I will move to educational games. Any ideas for electrical students are welcome!

The books are produced by a third party, TGC just sell them.

Nobody is immune from VAT. The University may claim it back, but they still have to pay it in the first place. You have to be registered for VAT to claim it back (e.g be a company turning over £68K)

With dbpro comes alot of html files wich explain all the functions in dbpro,

just start to read those first and then search online for good tutorials about programming in dbpro.

and if you don't find wat you need you can go to the website of the autor of the books and read the free example ones they include an register of what they explain in the books before buying and wat BatVink just said these books aren't written by TGC but by a third party.
