Hey guys,

I just bought DarkData for a project Im working on and started going through the examples and demos to get up to speed but none of them compile. It simply states could not understand command with the first DarkData command. So I tried commenting it out just to see whats happening, as soon as it gets to the next DarkData command it gives the same error. Its almost as if it doesnt recognize the dll. The keywords are picking up as well as the help files, everything looks and appears fine, but it cannot understand any of the commands and I did enter the registration key and it said it was activated. So Im at a loss here, did I miss something?

Thanks for the help

DarkData works well, but sadly the help files aren't up-to-date like they should be, as well as the examples. I posted a CSV converter on here for DarkData about a month ago - you need ian m's free plugins - but that download of mine shall help you get on the road.

If you need help searching and getting results from the kfs/dfs after using my converter, let me know.

wrong!!!!. dark data is up to date and works fine on all windows versions. see if you have installed it successfully or if you have eneterd the right password. as well check the compiler version because the first version doesn't accept Dark data.

@basjak

I also just purchased darkdata a while back, and while you are correct that it does indeed compile, it doesn't work out of the box. All of the samples need some amount of work to run - or run in a correct fashion. Plus,the help file included with DD is outdated.

I got darkdata up and running after emailing the author. So what the original poster should do is look at my sample to see how it runs, and then go from there.

@gbison,
I believe you need to update to a later version of DBPro - you need (I think) at least 7.4, but maybe 7.5 to use that plug-in.

Thanks guys for your help. Its working now. Apparently it was something with registration. Even though it said it was registered it did not for some reason. The third try got it, have no idea why either.

None the less, thanks so much for the prompt replies and Ill take a look at the suggested items. Its nice to ask a question and get replies this fast.

Ian thanks for the utilities btw, been using them for a why. They are a God send for DBP.

Thanks Again!
