1920x1080 unless it's an old game without a widescreen option.

Thanks everyone who posted so far this will help me support all the screen res people are using.

If you making a game and you going to use vishnu launcher when its released then get your screen res put down so it supports it.

I play nearly every game in windowed mode, at 1366 x 768. I like being able to quickly change between windows. My native resolution is 1920 x 1080.

I just now realized I've had a typo in my signature for the past 3 years.

1440x900 and 1280x800 as long as there is a generic widescreen options that would be great.

Wow there are a lot of 1366x768 resolutions in here, how come my 15in laptop can only go up to 1280x800? Don't say "Because it sucks haha" No, it's a fine laptop. It's not a gaming one, but it's alright..

Just make one of the options either 1280x800/1920x1080 alright? If that is ok with you? Cool beans

Does changing the width and height fields in the setup.ini actually change anything? Because I've never noticed anything different when changing it.

not in the testgame (fpsc uses 1024x768 whatever changes you do) but in the setup.ini of the finalized game. add

in the final lines of the setup.
means 1920x1080, color depth 32, antialiasing x4. just an example.
huds remain 1024x768 and get stretched, so you will see pixels. dont know how to change that, i think there is no way to do HD-huds at the moment. but the meshes get sized in the right way, so everything except the huds look as it should.

1920x1080 on my desktop comp.
1366x768 on my laptop.

Sometimes I use my 24" monitor with my laptop. If the games are demanding, I reduce it from the above mentioned (1080) to 1280x720.

Everything fits perfectly and doesn't smudge at this res. I'm on a 32 in monitor. It can do 1080i, but I digress.
I could go higher but I've never felt the need. I guess everyone has their own res they prefer.

If the game runs terrible I try to run in 640x480, if it runs with an average or decent speed I usually use 800x600, and if it runs really well (mostly 5+ year old games) I run in 1240x1028 which is my monitor's native resolution.

1366x768 or 1024x768, it's just matter of game, some games run on better and some doesn't run well on better resolution, but i prefer 1366x768 if it can be used.

So clearly he is going to add this one into the launcher. Can you add 1280x800 too? My laptop won't reach 1366x768.. Thanks!

The launcher has:

1024x768
800x600
640x480
and native

So if you don't use the above three, select native.

Hello... read my post.

If you don't use the listed three, select native. That passes the resolution you are on to the game.

As low as possible for TF2 (it's a very poorly optimised game)
1024*720 for regular COD 4
1600*900 for Pro-Mod COD 4

I use 1440x900 (native monitor resolution).

BTW, I would highly recommend querying the OS for available resolutions rather than relying on hard coded values (that counts stuff thrown in a config). That way you can also rule out resolutions that the monitor does not support (I'm not really sure how much of a problem that is anymore though with the scaling done in most LCDs and GPUs).

EDIT: Now that I think about it I imagine you may just be looking for a good base resolution for artwork.
